When I moved to the US, my body slowly came undone, Hashimoto's, a struggling liver, a gut that wouldn't settle, and skin that told on me. This is where I keep what I'm learning: my story, the old texts I'm reading, and the small daily practices bringing me back to myself.
Follow along as I rebuild a life that fits me, the routines, the food, the reading, and the slow, unglamorous work of getting better.
New country, new water, new food, new hours. For a while I thought the tiredness was just the move. It wasn't.
The exhaustion came first, the kind that sleep doesn't touch. Then my hair started thinning, my weight stopped making sense, and my moods swung in ways I didn't recognize. Bloodwork eventually gave it a name: Hashimoto's. My thyroid had turned on me, and once I started paying attention, I realized my liver and my gut had been asking for help for a long time too. The acne came later, almost like a footnote my skin insisted on adding.
I could have kept treating each thing as a separate emergency. Instead I started reading, first the modern books, then the very old ones. Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, herbalism, the yogic texts on breath and the nervous system. Not to replace my doctor, but to understand the body I'd been ignoring, and to find a rhythm that a prescription alone couldn't give me.
What I found wasn't a miracle. It was balance, warm food, earlier nights, morning light, breath, and a slower relationship with my own days. This site is my honest record of that: what I'm reading, what I'm trying, what's helping, and what isn't.
They're connected, thyroid, liver, gut, skin all talk to each other. Here's how I think about each one, and how I care for it day to day.
These are my own notes on my own body, not medical advice, and not a treatment plan for anyone else. I work with my doctor alongside all of this, and I'd gently ask you to do the same.

None of these are dramatic. That's the point, the healing lives in the repetition, not the intensity.

Herbs and practices can interact with medication, especially thyroid and liver medication. I check everything with my doctor and a qualified practitioner first, and I'd ask you to as well.
An honest timeline, including the parts that didn't work.

I write here when something shifts, a reading that reframed things, a routine that finally stuck. If you have a question, or something of your own you'd like to share, you can email me any time.
